Integrating MyJobMatch: Bridging B2B and B2C Platforms for Holistic Employment Solutions
In the ever-evolving landscape of employment solutions, MyJobMatch emerged as a beacon for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Initially launched as a B2B platform, it was a collaborative space for employment support professionals. The subsequent B2C iteration empowered job seekers to explore job opportunities independently.
Building upon the foundations laid in the MyJobMatch B2B and MyJobMatch B2C case studies, this narrative delves into the intricate process of merging these two platforms. Exploring the aforementioned case studies is recommended for readers new to this journey. Process and What I Did
Wireframing, Prototyping, and User Testing:
What I did: Developed wireframes and prototypes for the integrated platform, followed by rigorous user testing sessions.
Why: Visualizing the integration aids in identifying potential pain points. User testing then validates the design decisions, ensuring they align with user expectations.
Result: Iterative refinements leading to a seamless integration of the B2B and B2C platforms.
Learnings: Prototyping and user testing are invaluable in ensuring the success of complex integrations.
Key Design Decisions
Account Claim Process for B2C Users:
What I did: Recognizing that some individual profiles were already on the B2B platform, I introduced a streamlined 'Claim Account' user flow during the B2C registration process. This involved generating unique reference codes for each profile. During B2C account creation, users would input their reference code, which they would obtain from their employment support provider.
Why: We maintain consistency across platforms by allowing users to claim pre-existing profiles. This ensures that users don't have to re-enter information, making the transition between B2B and B2C seamless and reducing cognitive load, a principle that ensures user recognition and consistency.
Result: A frictionless onboarding experience for B2C users with pre-existing B2B profiles, ensuring they feel recognized and valued.
Learnings: The smoother the onboarding process, the higher the user retention and satisfaction.

Activity Feed on B2B Platform:
What I did: Designed a comprehensive activity feed for employment support providers on the B2B platform. This feed offers a bird's-eye view of their clients' job interests and applications or any individual in the network. It showcases an individual's profile overview, jobs they've liked, applications they've started, and a matching ring rating component for each job. Additionally, job cards come equipped with status toggles, allowing providers to update the job status for each individual.
Why: Keeping the employment support providers informed about the status and activities of their clients ensures that they can provide timely and relevant support. This is rooted in the principle of visibility of system status.
Result: Enhanced clarity and efficiency for support providers, ensuring they can offer timely and relevant assistance.
Learnings: Transparency in user actions and statuses significantly aids in decision-making for support providers.

B2B Platform - Updated Individuals' Profile with their Activity Log:
What I did: Integrated an activity log view within the B2B platform. This feature offers support providers a snapshot of an individual's actions and progress on the right section of their profile.
Why: Keeping professionals informed about user activities ensures timely interventions and support.
Result: A more effective job placement process, with professionals clearly viewing user activities.
Learnings: Providing real-time insights into user activities empowers professionals to make informed decisions, leading to more successful job placements and a better understanding of user behaviour on the platform.

Outcomes and Lessons Learned
Achievements:
Unified Experience: Successfully integrated the B2B and B2C platforms, creating a seamless experience for job seekers and employment support providers.
Efficient Job Placement: The introduction of the activity log, and the claim account feature streamlined the job placement process, resulting in quicker matches and higher satisfaction rates.
Enhanced Collaboration: By providing a master list of expressed interests and real-time activity logs, we fostered better collaboration between job seekers and their support providers.
Reflections:
User-Centric Approach: The integration process reinforced the importance of consistently placing the user at the center of design decisions. We created a platform that genuinely resonates by understanding and addressing their unique needs.
Value of Iterative Design: Building upon the foundation of the B2B and B2C platforms and continuously iterating based on feedback ensured that the integrated platform met the evolving needs of its users.
Importance of Collaboration: Engaging with stakeholders, from government officials to employment support providers, was crucial. Their insights and feedback were invaluable in shaping the platform's direction and ensuring its success.
